Big Ten Week 9 Preview

Image
We're halfway through the week leading up to the Week 9 matchups in the Big Ten. I'll be breaking down each match up and our contributors will be making their picks for who they believe will win the games.  Michigan @ Michigan State - I am going to be doing an in depth breakdown for this matchup in our next post. But I'll say this now, this is a rivalry game, the numbers and statistics in that breakdown don't really matter. Personally I believe this game is going to be less about the Jimmy's and the Joe's and more about the X's and the O's. In saying that I personally give the advantage to Mel Tucker and the Spartans until Harbaugh and co. prove otherwise. MSU 24 Mich 21 Iowa @ Wisconsin - This season has not gone the way the Badger faithful anticipated. While their defense is as solid as expected, especially in the run game with the #1 ranked rushing defense in the country, their offense has taken about 5 steps backwards.    Michigan is 7-0, but they don't feel like they're 7-0. Michigan is the #6 ranked team in the country, but I wouldn't put money on them beating teams 7-25. As a Michigan fan I've been here before, under both Hoke and Harbaugh, I've heard the "we're finally back" comments from the fan base and hype from the sports media in September and early October..... Only to reach the end of October and into November and have my hopes and dreams dashed by the reality of sub-par coaches roaming our sideline and polluting our press-box.  Hoke getting out coached by the likes of Dantonio and Urban Meyer was not very surprising, but Harbaugh was supposed to be different, he was supposed to be the prodigal son returned to the great University where as the starting Quarterback under the "legendary" (I dispute that title) Bo Schembechler he guaranteed victory over Ohio State.....and then delivered. So far he's not just 0-5 vs the Buckeyes (thanks in part t
